Dredging for the Dabhol LNG

Dabhol, India
DMJM+HARRIS will perform surveying, geotechnical investigations,
dredging engineering, and construction management services
for the Dabhol Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving
terminal in Dabhol, India. The project entails the dredging
of approximately 11 million cubic meters of material
for the entrance channel and turning basin of the LNG
facility.
The project is divided into five separate tasks. Task
1 includes the preparation of pre-solicitation notices
to be sent to prospective qualified contractors. Task
2 includes review and comment on the proposed contract
documents. Task 3 entails hydrographic surveys and geotechnical
investigations to determine the seabed conditions in
the project area, including the profile of the mud line
and the profile of the underlying basaltic rock layers.
Task 4 covers the dredging design, the design of protection
for existing undersea pipelines, and the preparation
of contract plans and specifications. Task 5 includes
a review and evaluation of the bids for the project
and a recommendation for award.
